I do not see a lot of new Commerical company activity, what do you know that the others don’t.
I just can’t see why you would do this, knowing everything you know about Florida.
I am doing it because I believe in building a company that supports policyholders and agents in this environment. It is still possible to build a reputable company that is actually good for the consumer and makes sense. Yes, the OIR makes it difficult but where there is crisis, there is opportunity. Furthermore, the company in formation I mentioned will expand throughout the country over time. It will be a breakthough in the insurance industry and set a new standard for future insurance companies. Please remember that not all insurance companies are greedy and out for themselves. Some believe in the value of customer service and claims handling.
THEY MAY BELEIVE IN CUSTOMER VALUE AND CLAIM HANDLING BUT THE BOTTOM LINE IS THE BOTTOM LINE!!! PROFIT!!! GOOK LUCK TRYING TO MAKE IT WORK. THE GOODS HANDS PEOPLE ALMOST WHEN BANKRUPT TRYING TO MAKE IT HAPPEN ON THE HOMEOWNERS SIDE AND ARE NOW RUNNING FROM THE STATE.
how is it that Homeownerschoice states their ratihg is an [ A ] when in the st pete times states their rating is a [ D ]I would say that is false advertising
Harry, I can only assume that you have never heard of Demotech. Every Insurance company that has a Demotech rating is rated “A”. The silly thing is that they do not have a “B”, or “C” or “D” rating available. They have 4 or 5 diferent levels of “A” rating. Really makes you feel comfortable knowing that all these new fledgling companies with no history all have “A” ratings by Demotech.
Standard and Poors, AM BEST, etc won’t even look at a company until they have been around for a few years, usually 5 or more. The Street is a somewhat new rating service that gives no one a good rating.
For Florida companies, just don’t bother looking at ratings, they mean nothing. Look at the surplus, reserves, written premium, assets and reinsurance program. But then you would have to know what these all mean in order to make an informed decision. My suggestion, complain to the Governor and Office of insurance regulation and tell them to get with it.
