I didn’t see where Nolin paid any fees back but after all he didn’t steal anything. To get caught was his real crime. To roll over on Massey should get him an extra bar of shower soap. If he didn’t know what he did was wrong then he should be sentenced for being stupid. Trust in an individual is built over a lifetime and be lost in just a few minutes to never again be regained. He should suck it up and shut up.
He knew it was wrong or why else would he try to hide the payments made to Massey. ALso, over $800,000 is in question but only $275,000 was paid in restitution. This country needs to stop the slap on the wrist type sentencing and start getting tough with criminals, all criminals. The sentence should be a deterent for the next guy.
Since when should anyone give a _hit what a convicted felon thinks about his sentence? How dare he? This only goes to show the contempt with which some people view the legal system. I’d suggest we make him a deal. We’ll reduce his sentence to 18 months……….at Rikers Island, not some local dump in Mississippi.
I agree. Had I been the judge and if it were possible I would have given him a longer sentence.
At least with blue collar crime you know what you are facing. If someone is robbing the 7-11 the clerk is usually facing a gun. The white collar criminals are worse in that they are like snakes in the grass. You don’t know what is going on and may never find out.
Of course, attorneys, et al will never change the system because they are some one the biggest crooks out there.
