And this is newsworthy because? I doubt the deer population is getting more careless. Maybe it’s the twits behind the wheel who don’t slow down or are distracted with their cell phones or texting. Maybe the hillbillies in W.Va should impose a curfew on deer in these counties.

Thank you Erie for once again keeping tabs on the rates of Man vs. Wild collisions.

Apparently the high rates in the four cited counties has something to do with the exploding deer population.

No, that must be taken back. If the deer population were exploding, drivers would have to navigate around all the Bambi bits and the bomb fragments.

Maybe that would make the game even more fun. “Hit the Deer and Make it Explode” could be the next rave game. Of course, you’d have to be lucky enough to find the one packing the least amount of dynamite.

Pick the wrong one and you move onto the next level, Flying with Rudolph.

But there’s no wondering as to why Mingo County has had so few deer incidents. If you look on the maop, you will find that Mingo COunty is smack in the middle of the Sonoran Desert in Mexico. A local resident fought alongside Andrew Jackson back in the Mexican American war, and was rewarded with a 40 acre parcel of sand. Descendants of Roberto “Domingo” Mugler subsequently donated the development rights to the land to the State of WVA as a tax credit in 1953. The State shortened Mugler’s nickname and established the first courthouse in the desert in his honor.

Well…ya see, Chuck… I used the map under the lid of my meds bottle cap to find Mingo County.

I knew it was probably wrong but I figured if Snappel could be right with their factoids, why not Fizer?

Congrats, you found the one fabrication in my posting. Back in junior high, were you like the guy who yelled out the solution at the magician’s show? Ouch. Party popper.

Yes indeed MD I think I can. In fact, I bet you I could say the capitals of all 50 states in under 15 seconds.

    Ready?

“The capitals of all 50 states”.

Whew. Took me less time than I expected.

End result – don’t always believe everything you read.
