Kiawah Island is nice, but comparatively small, vaction spot that caters to high end people. It boasts championship golf courses and pristine beaches but is in a remote area of the state 19 miles south of Charleston. Federal money should not be used to develop it’s infrastructure so private developers can profit. If these people are entrepreneurs, they need to raise money to finance their own ventures instead of bellying up to the federal trough with their grimey hands out. Some body with half a brain needs to tell them NO!

Did anyone note the quote from the developer? What a first class a–h—. Of course it’s an option to not develop this property – just don’t do it. And since when to developers have the right to purchase land, and either fail to perform or ignore their due diligence about the restrictions, and then whine about how to make it easier/more profitable for them?

Have these people been hermits for the past decade? What on earth makes ANYONE think they should be building property in this type of environment?
