Dickie must serve 85% of his sentence. Feds don’t play like state judges. Thats a shame too. State judges end up wealthy and usually just skate right along, but fed judges have a vested retirement after a year on the bench that is criminal by any working mans standards. Dickie is going to a prison that is not exactly a piece of cake but he will undoubtly find work in the law library. Won’t that be interesting for some judge to discover ol’ Dickie is jammin’ up his docket from a cell. I love it. All I am trying to say is, our legal system is never going to work like this. It never has.

Dickie raped the legal system for decades and made hundreds of milllions of dollars doing it. He lived the high life and enjoyed only the finest things. Now at age 62, he finally gets caught and what punishment is given? A measily 5 years at a minimun security prison in another hillbilly state, Kentucky. He’ll be eligible for parle in 18 months. He doesn’t have to make any restitution either. Now that’s justice isn’t it? Last week another hillbilly judge in Alabama sentenced a teegage boy to 10 years for torching a VW worth $5,000. That’s justice too isn’t it? Our legal system is badly flawed.

I think that we need to honor Mr. Dick. He established a new level of litigation largess and excess, only to be brought up by his petard for believing in his own self-made image.

I propose that from now on, any attorney who deserves to be shredded in a public courtroom in the same manner as this buffoon should be labeled as “Getting Scrugged”.

I would have called the action “Getting Spitzered” but that one was already taken.

5 years behind bars. I hope he is kept tied up in the shower room, scrubbing the tiles with a toothbrush and a bar of soap.

But you have to understand, the tee times are really hard to get in that prison. Getting a good haircut is close to impossible. Clearly this is torture as defined by the Geneva Convention.

Are you saying that everyone from the South is a hillbilly? You don’t think that the justice system in the North, West and other parts of the country are just as corrupt? Police unions bribe and intimidate judges on a daily basis to gain power, authority and money and we sit back and watch it happen like a bad “B movie.” Where is the indignation there? Where is the justice? We allow police unions to endorse: judges, prosecutors, legislators, etc. Don’t you think they expect to get something in return? Should the Union Bosses be sharing a cell with Mr. Scruggs? What about the Judges? We have allowed the lawyers to take over our judicial system. Aren’t they taught in law school how to lie and deceive?

I believe on a federal sentence there is no early release; time sentenced is the time you serve.
But I remarked here when this first started that this probably wasn’t his first offense; just the first one they had they goods on him for. How many times did he miss getting caught?

YES, THE “JUSTICE SYSTEM” IS WARPED IN FAVOR OF MONIED PEOPLE, JUST AS POLITICS IS. WE NEED A NATIONAL REFERENDUM TO LIMIT CAMPAIGN EXPENDITURES TO $10,000. NO POLITICIANS ALLOWED TO VOTE ON IT.

I agree with you that the whole political system and jusdicial system is pandered and on the take. The executive system is just as bad. We need to clean house from the top down and take back control of our country. Probably will never happen in my life time though.

There is not a first time but only a first time getting caught. The devil is always in the details. The little details that get you caught. If we divide the fees won into the number of plaintiffs we would all be very surprised. My dad said if you were going to commit a crime you should dide the money gained by the years served to see if the annual pay while in prison is sufficient. I dare say the pay in this case is very adequate. Why no fine and or restitution? Who paid the cost of the trial?
