I can understand where the legislation is coming from but I wonder who is going to time 2 minutes at a traffic light? They’ll wait a bit to make sure nobody is coming and then go.
I don’t know a bicycle rider that obeys traffic signs anyways, so this does nothing. I see them blow thru red lights and stop signs all the time. I saw one guy get smacked by a car and thrown about 40 feet last year. I felt sorry for the driver of the car.
I commute by bike a couple times a week and I always obey the traffic laws despite constantly almost getting rear-ended by other bikers. Too easy to be not be seen by drivers and it’s not that difficult getting back up to speed.
And I always wear a motorcycle helmet when I ride that “bike” as well. (Thought I’d try and get that wonderful discussion started again on a slow Friday afternoon)
Ok I’ll bite! My head, my choice. I have not voluntarily worn a helmet on my motorcycle for 3+ years. As we used to say: IF YOU HAVE A $10 HEAD BUY A $10 HELMET, WELL MY HEAD IS PRICELESS AND I JUST DON’T WANT TO SPEND THAT MUCH ON A HELMET.
thanks
That would be ok except for the fact that if you suffer a serious life altering head injury, you probably wouldn’t have enough $$ to pay for your up keep and unless you successfully sue the poor slob who hit you, we the taxpayers will foot the bill for the remainer of your life.
by “poor slob who hit me”, do you mean the other motorist who was very likely to say these very words when they stepped out of thier cage?
“i never saw him, really officer i wouldn’t have run over him except he was only on a motorcycle”
This does make sense, in a common sense kind of way. However, having grown up in South Carolina, and worked hard all my life to overcome that disability, will offer that common sense isn’t all that prevalent in SC.

The same cop that gives tickets to other motorist from running the light or unsafe stars etc. Well basically no one

Bike riders(the one’s I have witnessed) are the most irresponsible drivers/riders on the road. Very seldom do I see them obey any traffic laws.

Guys, if nobody else volunteers to do the timing of the two minutes, I’ll do it.
