    “woulda, coulda, shoulda”. First off, these “thrill rides” are a risk under the best circumstances. Secondly, when one depends on a piece of cable, periodic replacement, worn or not, might be a good investment. Not all physical wear & tear can be detected visually. Just like a timing belt on a car. Why not change it before it breaks? The answer is obvious: people trying to save a buck. Lesson: Never trust a human being to do the right thing when money is at issue.
