it does not even give the company’s insurance company a chance to make a settlement. i expect that they are waiting a few days for mourning before talking to the parents, or in this case – the ambulance chaser. this goes to show, they want money and they might get a lot of it – with most of the money going to the lawyer. i think they probably would have done better to first see what they would have been offered and then decide either to accept or get a lawyer. granted sometimes accidents are not because a driver made an error. although it will be his fault since he crossed the line. i used to be a trucker (7 yrs) OTR and a driver trainer. whether a dumptruck and big rig, these are big vehicles and deserve respect by all drivers as well as compassion because we are professional drivers. we never give enough thanks for those folks that move our goods around the country for our needs. same with our military folks. again, this matter should have least waiting 1 wk before moving forward.
