Senate Bill 2012 has nothing to do with public adjusters. Apparently, the CFO is confused regarding the legislation being passed.

Correct – SB 2012 is about long term care policies and Holocaust victims. Can you find out the correct # of the bill that did pass regarding public adjusters? I couldn’t find one at all.

To protect homeowners? Ha!! There would be no need for Pulic Adjusters if carriers would pay homeowners the right amount on the loss. However, that is not the case. Most carriers pay far less on homeowner claims, requiring the use of a Public Adjuster. This legislation ensures carriers more profit. Homeowners beware; Insurance carriers have lobbyist that try to push through bills like this, all in the name of “protecting the homeowner”. How does this protect you? Fee limitation just prevents great minds from representing homeowners. Futhermore, forcing new public adjuters to work under a person for a year does not protect the homeowner. again it prevents new talent in the field. Are staff adjusters and independent adjusters (who represent the carrier) effected by this?
