Why the states continue their mental masturbation exercises trying change behavior with un-consequential “penalties and fines” is beyond me. You want to make a meaningful change and get abuser’s attention? Impound ANY vehicle they’re caught driving for 6 months, give them a MANDATORY 5-day jail sentence, and a $1,000 fine. Of course we know that will never happen because of “elected officials syndrome”. That’s the disease all elected officials come down with where they lose their stones.

See the subject line for a link to the bill.
And to Dread…initially I thought you were headed toward a “Southern insult” thus the hairs on the back of my neck started to tingle but I found your comments to be refreshingly honest and holding a great deal of validity. Thanks!

Amen, Dread. Unless and until we make the punishment meaningful and enforce the law we will continue to see people getting behind the wheel who shouldn’t be.
