Too bad, there goes my independent agency’s competitive advantage….for now. But, as I posted in earlier Allstate articles, it would actually be in everyone’s best interest if Allstate stayed in Florida and in fact got to charge the rates it needed. Provided, that is, that all insurance carriers are allowed to operate freely. Any chances of that?

Easy to answer that one. NO.

“To date, Allstate has submitted hundreds of thousands of pages of documentation, although according to Domansky, the submitted documentation represents only a fraction of the information originally requested.”

These political grandstanding witch-hunts are getting me angrier by the day.
How much is missing? 99/100 is a fraction. How much is missing because according to the state requirements due to the age of the material no longer needed to be kept?

I think the answer is yes, but first we need a couple of hurricanes to hit Florida to show how the politicians’ plan is a joke.

Get serious guys, the toilet paper request from August 1946 is important to the case. Got to make sure they had the proper paperwork.

99/100 of requested documents provided. The 1% is all they are wanting. Wasn’t it only about 1% of the Nixon tapes that crumbled that administration. Can’t say 1% isn’t important. Why is it so hard for Allstate to comply? This is what makes consumers suspicious. Hell, I’m suspicious and I have been in this business for thirty years.

Thanks for the confirmation that this is a lot of political grandstanding.

What I have read is some documents are no longer available. They are so old that Allstate was no longer required by statute or regulation to keep them.

I also read Allstate is also claiming attorney-client privelege for some of the documents.

Have you looked at the subpoena for what is being requested? There are items on that list from 1996. When was the last time you were requested for documentation from 12 years ago? If you were asked to provide it now would you be able to produce it? Would you be able to produce paperwork from a client that was last with your agency 8 years ago?
