Why not just give ’em a freakin’ new house? This is what Homeowners insurance is designed to cover. Additional Living Expense (ALE) not government handouts. The people who don’t pay to protect their property are making out better than the responsible citizens who buy insurance.
The government might just as well build some resort communities for these people to freeload in until their property is repaired/replaced.
So how is it that “mobile homes” manufactured with the same plywood panels as “trailers” are any better?? Dread is mostly right, except they should build a big basin & fill it in when it can’t hold any more freeloaders.
Rose – that’s my question! I’m also wondering where they got the 40ppb from. I don’t know if it’s a good figure or not, but it does seem like they just pulled it out their arse.
It’s never good when people suffer, but if they properly insure themselves then they don’t have to suffer. And hopefully by suffering now they would learn to take better care in the future. FEMA’s coddling provides zero incentive to prepare in the future.
Where does it say that these victims have no insurance? only that there are no other options. I sincerly hope that each of you always have options and never suffer from any devistating loss.
“Heidt said due to lack of rental units and hotel options in Macon County, the mobile homes are the most viable FEMA provision for tornado victims who have no other option available to them. He said there are about 50 families interested the mobile homes as a housing need solution.”
