this is a very good idea,as well hopefully there will be something to educate new owners too.I just got 5 horses with a clean bill of heath but not with alot of dealings moved my horses to property that already housed 1 horse, little did i know the importance of the health of the horse already there could be detrimental to my 5 horses.I took the word of the land owner that thier horse was healthy now out of educating myself I am now in fear my horses health are at jeopardy.Seems like there would be something to protect my investments as well.
Thank God! It’s about time. During Christmas my family had to deal with this. You kind of expect some “shady” people to try and rip you off, but the lady that took my family for a ride was a “single mom who had to down size before Christmas” she sold her horse as kid safe, bombproof, etc. This horse was anything but safe. The lady had her long enough to know what would set her off so when we tried her she was fine, one trail ride later we knew we had been taken. This horse could have killed us. When I called her and told her off she basically laughed and was like she your problem now. I was in the process of taking legal action and she finally settled out of court. I still lost money though.
Did the Lemon Law Pass for horses. Is there such a law in place in the State of Florida. I recently purchased a horse from a ranch in Brooksville, FL and was told he was healthy and sound, But 12-days after I owned him he became ill. The (sellers) Vet diagnosed him with neurological symptoms that were terminal. He began having seizures and was recommended for euthanasia just 17 days after I purchased him. What are my consumer rights? The Seller refuses to take any responsibility in the transaction. Who can help me? This just occurred in Nov-Dec 2009.
