    Allstate loves to do this. In every state.

    so does State Farm & Cotton States(Country Mutual). The Florida OIR allows them to do it, but they won’t allow independent agents to do this.

    What about Travelers? They do this. They don’t write on homes outside of city limits or now inside without writing the auto.

    And who do we have a greater duty of loyalty to? If the insurer (any) has to decide between two customers doesn’t it make some sense to honor the more loyal customer? I guess my point is that this is not a one-sided benefit–an exposure is going to be shed, it is just a question of setting some sensible criteria for which one.
    Other criteria might include age of home, distance to open water, amount of coverage, etc.
    Also, this is fundamentally different than requiring an additional line as an inducement to place the coverage on the front end.
