Vandals Cause $13,000 Damage at Schoool in Louisville, Ky.

Vandals caused about $13,000 in damage to a Louisville, Ky., school and closed classes while crews cleaned up the mess.

Louisville police say students at DeSales High School stayed home Monday after vandals sprayed fire extinguishers throughout the school, wrecked classrooms, burned hallways, set the basketball nets on fire and ripped up the football and baseball fields.

DeSales President Doug Strothman says the damage occurred Feb. 22, after a basketball game at the school.

Police estimated the internal damage to the school at about $3,000, and about $10,000 in repairs to the athletic turfs.

No arrests have been made, but school officials say they have some leads they are discussing with police.
