Here in Arizona we have the Nation’s strictest DUI laws and today our state senate accepted two new bills to make things even tougher on convicted DUIs – tell your friends
In the face of public outrage over DWI/DUI and the injuries and deaths that result, how can any legislature vote for reducing penalties? Idjits. This is an insult to citizens of SC. Where’s MADD on this?
There must be too much money lining those politicians pockets for them to grow cajones to do the right thing. It’s probably never impacted them directly so they don’t care (more than usual, I mean).
Living in the state of N.C. next to S.C., I’m very concerned. I wonder how these politicians will feel if a member of their family is killed by a drunk driver. I agree where is MADD on this issue? Perhaps the S.C. Senate is waiting for the FEDS to give them a manadate. Strenghten your DUI Laws or lose Federal Funds!!!! What a disgrace!
I am a victim of a drunk driver 8/21/06 Orangeburg county. I nearly died as a result. I am now confined to a wheelchair and if my wife wasn’t taking care of me I would be in a nursing home. I sometimes wish that I did not survive. My quality of life as well as all of my immediate family’s has not been enhanced to say the least. I am appauled about the treatment that the South Carolina drunk driver receives. No wonder the drunks can’t be dismayed. When the laws are strengthened, hopefully, maybee it will help to purge these slimeballs from the highways. Instead of a slap on the wrist, the offenders should get stiff sentencing without getting time reduced for good prison behavior[what a joke this is]also they should loose their driving privileges for life. My attacker took my driving and walking from me.
In South Carolina, drunk driving and money in the lawyers pockets is a marriage blessed by the devil himself. Does a drunk driver have to invade the home of every legislator for the laws to be strengthened? I hope not. Sincerely, Jim Kranak Dothan Alabama 334-792-4323
