Granny’s policy will cover on the 1st party side. Whether or not the parent’s 3rd party liability will is another story but I’d bet it will. The kid probably didn’t intend to burn the place down.

Assuming of course both, or at least one of the parties invested in an insurance policy of some kind that would provide coverage….

In today’s “South East” section of this Journal four of the six stories deal with fires/arsons. Forget Sherman’s March to the Sea—the locals seem to be doing a pretty good job of it themselves.

Should be covered, but hopefully the policy limits were increased post renovation.

    Doug,
Wow! How long did it take for you to come up with that one? I, as a Southerner,
resent the generalization to all of us.
But I do agree that it seems alot of fires have occurred in the South, of late.
We have not experienced anything like that down where I live though.
It’s sad that a house that has survived so much over the last 100 years
is turned to ash by a 9 yr old–insurance
    to replace it, or not.

The real question would be; did the kid yell, “Hey y’all, watch THIS!!!” just before the house burst into flames?
