Good job IJ, quote a guy who is on his third motorcycle accident. Bikes are so fast and afford no protection. This guys is a candidate for the Darwin Awards. I would think he should have figured out he couldn’t ride after the first accident. And finally cooler heads prevail…the car driving public that causes over 90% of these deaths by not paying attention should be educated to share the road. What a crock that NHTSA wants to further the governments nanny powers.

Just out of curiosity, ABATE, why are your stats legit but those from the NHTSA bad?

I guess requiring motorcyclists to wear a helmut in order to reduce fatalities is out of the question?

We have to stop trying to protect people from their own stupidity. Helmet laws are ridiculous. I say leave the natural selection process alone. Anyone who chooses not to wear one doesn’t value their own safety so why should anyone else? The licensing process for “donorcycles” should be investigated. Obviously some idiots who lack common sense, good judgment, and reflexes are getting licensed to their own detriment.

I do agree that normal people who drive automobiles that provide decent protection agains collisions should be more aware of the donorcycles that offer ZERO protection to the genius riding them. Ever notice that it’s not the serious motorcycle drivers (Harleys, Gold Wings) that are involved?
