Has anyone heard how she is doing? This is such a horrible accident. My 13 year old and I were on that very ride 3 weeks ago. It makes me sick to even think about it.
I think the comment made by Nebraskan was very insensitive and would never be made if it had happened to thier family. I’m sure that’s all these people are thinking about is how much money all this is worth. They have more to think about and it is probally going to be a tremendous amounnt of support for the young girl to get through this and no amount of money could ever compinsate for what she has been through. That is what is wrong with the world today.
I feel horrible for the little girl and her family. I hope and pray for all the best for them.
But, this is an INSURANCE website and board. We deal with insurance realities- which happen to involve liability and claims.
Thus, Nebraskan, it is an intriguing question as to where the liability lies. I think it will be determined by whether there was something done that was “improper” by the park or not. If not, then it should go back to the manufacturer- don’t you think? Many in my company have discussed this very thing. I think that has been the general consensus.
Anyone know what the Park will be responsible for paying for this young girl’s injuries? I know before you get on most rides their are a ton of disclaimers, but I’ve never read on that said, “may lose feet while ride is in operation.”
Also, anyone care to make a friendly wager on when and how much this family sues for?
I agree. Don’t get so smug sitting in your cube reading claims news that forget that these are real people. When was the last time you went on an amusement park ride? The main reason they are as safe as they are is because plaintiffs and claimants have made the responsible parties pay for their negligence.
Be a bit more reasonable in your posts, or keep your thoughts to yourself. This is one reason our industry is thought of as one rung above used car salesmen.
Atlantan and Disgusted,
My, aren’t we quick to point a finger? I didn’t take Nebraskans post in the same vile manner you did at all. I think you may be coloring his post with your own beliefs/sensitivities. It is a terrible thing that happened to this young lady, no doubt. But, Nebraskan has a valid question, what type of liability can be assessed to the park vs. ride manufacturer vs. any maintenance folks involved, etc. How does one determine a value to state in a suit for their childs limbs?
Let’s come down off our high horse and have an intellectual exchange rather than judging others for what attitude YOU’VE interpreted.

This is such an unfortunate inccident and I hope she can recover.

Wondering if anyone knows if the doctors were able to re-attach her feet? My daughter is the same age. My prayers go out to her and her family…

I used improper grammar…I used “their” instead of “there.”
My bad.
I guess it’s a good thing this wasn’t you or your child.. then maybe you wouldn’t be so quick to make such a disgusting comment.
