    Why on earth would someone try to pet a leopard? That is just asking to be attacked. I sure hope the zoo was not allowing its patrons to pet or otherwise be in such close proximity of animals such as that.

    My thoughts too.

    I wonder if they allowed people to get that close to the animals. If they did, I would guess they were to blame. You cannot expect everyone to have enough sense not to pet the animals if they are allowed to get close enough to do so.

    The other incident seemed to be a fluke, since they never had an escape in the past.

    This comment is about the accredation. In one paragraph it states not by Keith that he is accreditated by ZAA? I’ve never heard of the association, but never the less. In the very next paragraph Keith says he hopes to have the accredation in 6 months? Which is it? Does he have it or not?

    The woman who tried to pet the leopard climbed over the fence and put her arm in its cage. It’s a true shame that it had to be put down just because someone was being foolish.
