State Farm promised to attempt to resolve these claims almost 5 months ago. Why did it take so long? Insureds are just now getting their lowball offers. No, State Farm is playing the game. $10 mil is only 1/5 of $50 mil! Would you really think State Farm would admit to anything at this late date? How can we be expected to believe anything State Farm says in their manipulated releases? They have attempted to subvert the system at every turn. For every person in prison, there is an “I am innocent story!” Do you believe them? Then why should we believe the State Farm version of the story?

State Fram agreed to $50 mil and have made offer of $10 mil and they can’t understand why the AG is filing suit. What a joke!!!!

AJ, (If you don’t mind, I’m just going to call you AJ from now on; it’s easier to type.)

You should always look at both sides of a story. Follow this link to State Farm’s response:

    http://www.statefarm.com/about/media/media_releases/miss_atgnrl.asp

Be sure to also follow the links at the bottom of the story and read the attorneys’ letters.

AJ won’t look at this objectively, let alone read any information that exonerates State Farm. After reading the link I am not sure why Hood chose now to spasm – it seems that claims are moving forward. 4 1/2 short months ago he was encouraging other carriers to step up like State Farm. Now he wants to rip them. I encourage other IJ readers to follow the link and reach your own educated conclusion (like AdjusterToe lol).

AJ, State Farm mailed over 30,000 letters after the agreement 4 1/2 months ago. You make a huge assumption that State Farm has received responses from all $30,000 and is still delaying in payment, or not paying the claims. Assuming they did receive responses from everyone, even you as super an adjuster as you are, cannot adjust this magnitude of claims in this short of a time span. The reality is that State Farm is keeping to their agreement by re-evaluating claims, and continuing the process.

It appears Hood is grandstanding and stumping to prove to his constituents that he has their best interests at heart. I don’t think he does…because of his previous actions, carriers are pulling out of MS.

Your alternate reality where there is no good to be found anytime involving State Farm makes your opinion a little less convincing.

By your own admission, State Farm has waited 4 1/2 months after reaching an agreement in Jan. ’07, after alreaddy dragging it our for over one year. The claims were already set up and why would it take 4 1/2 months to generate a letter.

The letters have gone out so why only 1/5 of the proposed amount offered? No, it you that sees things thru the big red glasses and not reality. Why don’t they just make legitimate offers?

The letters were just sent out, 4 1/2 months AFTER the agreement. The letters were not sent out 4 1/2 months ago.

AJ, you don’t have to believe anyone. All I ask is that before you condemn one side, take a look at what they have to say and compare it to the opposing view. Have an informed opinion of your own.

Let me respond to some of your mistaken assumptions…
    1. “promised to attempt to resolve these claims almost 5 months ago.”
They ARE attempting to resolve these claims. You assume they will do nothing else.

    2. “$10 mil is only 1/5 of $50 mil!”
Again, you assume they will do nothing else. $50 mil has been set aside (so to speak) as a minimum to resolve these claims. It ain’t over yet!

    3. “Would you really think State Farm would admit to anything at this late date?”
You assume State Farm is guilty by default. They are just trying to get this behind them. AG Hood and the S.K.G. are trying to get votes (Hood) and money for themselves and their friends. State Farm has actually paid the AG for some administrative costs.

    4. “How can we be expected to believe anything State Farm says in their manipulated releases?”
You assume everything State Farm says are lies, yet anything AG Hood states is the gospel. Have you even read State Farm’s release and the letters attached?

Now you assume that the letters were just sent out.

Have you seen a postmark on even one of these letters? How could 300 offers have been made under the MID plan (and that’s according to AG Hood)if the letters were “just sent out, 4 1/2 months AFTER the agreement”?

Mark, thanks for pointing me to the website. The letters do a good job of explaining where SF is coming from.

AJ, you may want to read the letters. You are entitled to your opinion, but as Mark stated there are 2 sides to every coin. Don’t wear your blinders and prejudice all of the time. Try to see the other side, and if you still disagree then fine. However, you should never make assumptions without knowing both sides…
