If at all possible I would like for someone to try and pass this article on to Pamela Saylor. This article appeared in The Charleston Post and Courier, Editorial section June 5th…..

    ATV LEGISLATION

I read with much interest the articles published recently regarding the ATV bill.

I would like to bring to the attention of Gov. Sandford, Sens, Chip Campsen and Larry grooms what I have witnessed in my neighborhood.

Children ages 13 and under are on adult-sized ATVs, I assume with permission of their parents.

They wear no protective gear, and their clothing consists of shorts and T shirts.

They fail to obey traffic signs.

I have seen as many as five children on one ATV, two of them toddlers and no adult supervision. Gov. Sanford says that legislation would “necessarily grow government, impinge on private-property rights and diminish parental responsibility.”

If the parents will not assume this responsibility, who will?
