Merck is going to be forced into a global Vioxx settlement, in order to save face with their investors. Their evil deception and lies will stop. Merck\’s greedy ways have already gone on for far too long. So many have been seriously injured, and, or died from Vioxx, despite that they still perceive themselves as aloof.
They were well aware of the risks, albeit they forced it onto the market through hiding the cardiovascular event results of the clinical trial. There will be monetary retribution for the injured parties, mark my words.
I believe this statement is very true. I was hurt and my work ended due to Vioxx and 4.5 yrs of usage. My Cardiologist has had to place 8 stints (RCA-LCA) todate in me. My BMI was right on, State weight lifter champion, Medical student at Carver. All gone due to one little pill DOCTOR recomended for my knee pain from my Airborne days. Merck will pay through the nose….and the investors will see to it, if they have any say after a possibly bought judge denied their claim.
I took vioxx from the time it came out till 2004 when a heart attack almost ended my life. Many weren\’t as fortunate. My life as I knew it is over. I also believe the judges need to be watched closely. If they are going to be fair and follow the law then where are the murder charges that every executive of merck should face?
If I had been warned, I would never had put that pill in my mouth! I\’ve lost my life as it was, my job, my health coverage, my life insurance, my home..I take 12 pills a day to survive and I was not in any \”high risk group\” They lied, period! Sure, they can afford to pay lawyers millions to \”Take each case to court\” I could at least think more of Merck if they just said, yep, we screwed-up…take the money they pay their lawyers and settle the lawsuits..It would probably be cheaper for them and make them look better in the eyes of America! That is the \”righteous thing to do\”!
My wife of 25 years died after taking Vioxx in 2001. She was in no risk group for any serious health problem. What is a life and a loved companion worth to Merck? Apparently, nothing: not even a sympathy card. To hell with Merck and its greediness and lack of ethics.

In regard to your question….I think I can answer that for you. Our attorneys said Merck can’t possibly take every case to court, or they will be broke, and by then our grandchildren’s grandchildren won’t even get the money…that’s how long it will take to get to every case. They say they won’t settle, but just watch. There will be a global settlement, its the only way everyone will be compensated, and they know this. They will never survive all the court costs, even if they try every case….trust me, I don’t know how long it will be, but you will see your money….we all will. They had no intentions of ever telling us the truth about the drug. They want to use pre-medical conditions to prove they were not liable, but the truth is, the drug doubled the risks of heart attacks, no matter what your pre existing condtion was. I am optimistic…I have great attorneys!!!
