Let\’s see, what are your personal income taxes in the state? So the trade off was no personal income taxes and higher property taxes.
As for insurance, don\’t expect any help there either. It is a choice and I don\’t think you\’ll find too many people will to subsidize your insurance costs. In addition, the great work your state reps are doing is bound to come back and bite everyone.
Again, sorry but I don\’t see it happening any other way.
I agree….Although I live in a Coastal county in Florida, my taxes have doubled as well as the insurance. It is harder and harder to stay here, but I do not want to subsidize all the people coming down here paying 1.4 million for their homes and then complaining.
I am one of the few originals who has lived here since childhood. Let them them stay up north….leave or beachfronts alone. I can live with a little less traffic and a few less stores.
I had to pause for a moment because I was crying for that poor man who owns a $1.2 million home but has to pay those awful taxes. Did I say \”crying\”? I\’m sorry I meant to say \”vomiting\”.
If you do not like the taxes maybe you should downsize a little. I bet it is just him and his wife and their little french poodle living in paradise. My entire house is probably the size of his master bedroom and we have 3 children living in our home.
I am conservative and vote republican but some of these a**holes with all the money complaining about paying taxes make me sick. Don\’t expect the rest of the country to subsidize your lifestyle.
The real estate market in Florida has boomed over the past 5 years. Home values have nearly tripled, which means that homes valued at $150,000 in 2001 later sold in 2005 or 2006 for over $400,000. This occurred alot down here. My question, what is happening to the windfall of property tax money that the state and counties are receiving from these home sales? They collected maybe $1,500 in 2001 and now they are getting mayber $4,000 for the same home.

1.4 million for a house and a condo on the beach? I think those of us in north Florida working every day should subsidize these New Jersey folks!
Sorry if I don\’t shed a tear.
