Legal fees are horrendous – Gary wants $11,000 per hour for legal work, totaling $24 million. The man must have no shame.

Generally, legal fees are strangling free commerce in the USA, with smaller companies beaten into submission by lawyer\’s fees rather than the dictates of justice; what a ridiculously unfair system.

It doesn\’t matter what the lawyers charge, it\’s what the market will bear.

If I\’m being sued and I lose, the plaintiff\’s attorneys can charge him $11,000 an hour, but that doesn\’t mean that I have to pay that rate. Maybe it would be a good idea that, as with body shop labor rates for instance, there should be established de facto prevailing rates that third parties are obligated to, with the difference being picked up by the client.

Of course, the legislatures are lawyer-ridden, so fat chance. That brings up another interesting question: should lawyers, who are officers of the judicial branch of govt, be prohibited from seeking office in the legislative or executive branches?

I have just one question; do people have last names in Florida or do they just go by their first and middle name?! :)

If there was a hung jury, wouldn\’t that indicate that the prosecution did not adequately prove their case and that the defense did not adequately disprove the case? Why in the heck would attorney\’s fees be awarded in this instance…and at $11,000 an hour no less. What a moroon!

It was a civil case, silly. There was no prosecutor.

Those names do sound a like some of the Simpson\’s characters and the fees for Lionel Hutz\’s peers are certainly comedic.

I know how to read, and to me it reads Leroy Moe (both usually first names), Willie GARY, not Gray (both usually first names)…

    I was joking…GEESH!
