So, if my house is destroyed or damaged by a storm, the Department of Financial Services isn\’t usually the phone number that comes to mind to call. I can think of a lot of others I\’d call first. Maybe… FEMA… Insurance Company…

Florida really is getting into the insurance business, I see.

You folks that are uninformed on the State of Florida and how it operates really need to refrain from your comments.
FYI, the Dept of Financial Services oversees the insurance industry in Florida. Any objections to the State trying to help its own when a catastrophe hits?? Afraid you might be subsidized for that too?? Can\’t wait for our chance to comment when your State sustains a crisis.

Why do you have to call DFS for help filing a claim? Why not your agent or insurance company? I don\’t have any objections about the state helping their people but sometimes the state needs to know when they are over stepping. If you dont know anything about the insurance industry than leave it to the experts or get educated in the insurance business so that you can do a better job at it. Our state has been through some tough times with hurricane and flood damage but our state do not over step.

I used a Public adjuster for my Wilma Claim, it was the best thing I ever did. I got three time the offer I recieved from SF. I wonder why this publication is so against them perhaps they are paid by the insurance companies. So-much for bieng unbiased

Appears Seminole County was included by state officials on a \”possibility\” tornado may have touched down there as the weather system crossed over. See:

I am a Public Adjuster Licensed in Connecticut and Florida and Louisiana. I worked Hurricane Claims in Lake Charles LA. and helped Insureds recover what they were entitled to . Every on should have some one as an advocate to help Fukk recovery from a Loss.
