New and daring out-of-the-box fixes are needed for Florida\’s post hurricane reconstruction is needed. Insurers can\’t make a profit in claim-prone areas which is why the wind pool insurance began in the first place and this isn\’t working either. A serious review is needed of reconstruction costs to eliminate gouging – this needs to include criminal law passage and enforcement. The adjusting expense needs to be reduced and the quality of adjusting needs improvement. Hiring contract adjusting personnel has only increased the final cost to Florida homeowners and the state organization should direct hire from a list of pre-qualified claim management, supervisory and field adjusters. Drastic measures are needed, now.
