It sounds to me like State Farm is more worried than the employees. The company is doing their best to keep these individuals from testifying.

Having said that, any employee that would allow a company to direct them to break the law should be held accountable. By keeping silent and following directions from a company to commit illegal acts, they become contributors to the crime and should be charged accordingly.

These are the exact scenarios that give insurance companies a bad name and the honest companies and employees have to pay for it.

We all know the fish rots from the head, but in our society corrupted by the economically powerful, the corporations they run and the utterly corrupt, corrupting and corrupted Congress and Administration, only little people are blamed and punished (e.g. the Abu Gharib scandal, although they did manage to get rid of one of the only female generals in the Armed Forces in the process–just a coincidence).

People who did or did not compromise themselves, who did or did not follow company policy to the letter can and will be given up by the powerful to protect the powerful. Innocent or not innocent, the cost alone of our Rube Goldberg legal system will ruin many.

To protect yourself, Document, Document and Document what you did and were asked to do (corporations routinely destroy and \”can\’t find\” evidence in law suits; small storage devices can get a lot of documents out of the workplace discretely in most cases) and consider Whistle Blower status and protections if it looks like you are being set up.

As for always doing the right thing, whatever you did can be made to appear the opposite by people with the right levers on the right information and power.

    Trust no one….

Pleasant dreams… And while dreaming, consider the political events of the last few decades and how your acquiescence to the corruption step by step has led to your being in such a chaotic and unpredictable position….time to wake up and take action.

Reminds me of the good old days when Pru was caught selling totally inappropriate, overpriced products to widows and orphans. Rogue brokers, they said. Isolated incidents, they said. We are shocked. SHOCKED! Then it all came out in the court case that management was behind the strategy 100%.

I\’m all for individual responsibility to uphold ethics, but I hope State Farm gets nailed for this.

State Farm and Allstate/Pilot Claim Service \”adjusters\” told untold thousands of hurricane Rita victims in South East Texas that blatant wind/debris damage* to asphalt shingle roofing systems was \’not really\’ damage to shingles, and/or \’damage our engineers recognize\’.

(Audio documentation of an upper level State Farm \”adjuster\”/manager explaining their Rita \”position\” is available).

    * 6-7 hours of wind borne debris being thrown at 90-100MPH+ against the outer (granule) component of a shingle, which abrasive action can grind down the outer layer all the way down to the inner fiberglass mat, is NOT wind damage State Farm and Allstate \”recognize\”.

Too, wind broke/lifted tar sealant bonds on shingles. Debris then shimmed up the shingles, and debris also stuck to the tar sealant bonds, making it impossible for the shingles to reseal, and leaving the home and inhabitants vulnerable to harm.

Again, State Farm and Allstate claimed that that those types of roofing system breakage \’is not damaged that they recognized\’.

(As a side note, many of their loss claim \”offers\” (forgot) to include a basic sub-trade contractor overhead and profit valued line item of 29%, and many other claim estimates (forgot) to include a basic 49% primary/general contractor overhead and profit loss value).

In other words, according to the Texas Department of Insurance,** both Allstate and State Farm are collecting in real dollars Subcontractor and Primary-General Contractor overhead and profit loss values from the general public, but are keeping that money since most people don\’t realize it is part of the value of their loss they have pre-paid for every month in Replacement Cost policies/premiums.

..And their \”adjusters\” comply with such practices.

It also makes one wonder how the accountants juggle those windfalls?

** See Texas Department of Insurance Bulletin B0045-98 which describes contractor ovehead and profit values as being factored into replacement costs of a structure, and is pre-paid for by the general public, and is to be repaid claimants as part of the ACTUAL value of a [structural] \”loss\”.

Not doing so can create ILLEGAL windfall/profit.

He has ruined State Farm all because of greed and the almighty dollar. His father, Im sure is spinning in his grave. A classic case of a spoiled rotten kid who was pushed thru the company to become CEO because of his last name. State Farm is getting what they deserve. It used to get a good company where employees showed loyalty, Now its just another job
