Ricker took his responsibilities seriously and probably had enough when the governor and the cabinet, playing politics to boost Crist, intervened to say that the Citizens Board can\’t fulfill its fiduciary duties by seeking adequate rates. Jeb Bush has become remarkably un-free-market lately and the Florida homeowners market is suffering as the result of his knee-jerk reaction to the property insurance issue. If Jeb stops, looks and listens, he will realize the best thing he can possibly do for the marketplace is back off and not call a special session. Otherwise, expect new legislative mandates that, in turn, will lead to more carriers restricting their writings in Florida.

Maybe he took his job too seriously, which is why he hired outside counsel to appeal the recent denial of a requested rate increase.

CPIC is a mess. Ricker probably made a good decision to jump from that flaming ship before he becomes Gallegher\’s fall guy. No question being an officer of CPIC is a crap job ! They should all save themselves and jump!
