I think this panel will will the Nobel prize for the worst idea yet. Solving the insurance crisis in Florida is more than having Insurance co\’s publishing discounts or standardizing the discounts. If this brilliant group wants to standardize the market keeping making recommendations like this and watch every policyholder be insured by Citizens. That will certainly standardize everything when all end up in Citizens.
Work on the real issues like less regulation.
Florida has the worst rate review process in the country and they brag at each public hearing how great they are. If they were so great, why is the Fl market upside down?
The market sets rates not regulators!!

You are right – these guys just plain don\’t get it – in the face of each new development they recommend more regulations, more legislation, more control over the market – and the market is slipping away right under their noses.

They need to just get the point – get out of the market; of course it\’s going to cost more – the models were woefully inaccurate, reinsurance costs went through the roof, the storms were bigger and more frequent, etc.
