We were on Dog Island (a small barrier island 20 miles SE of Apalachicola) when we felt 2 very srong vibrations lasting from 5-10 seconds each. The entire house shuttered a great deal. Our next door neighbor also confirmed the same at her house.
I live on the \”Treasure Coast\” of Florida, which runs from Brevard County to the north, down to Martin County going south. if they felt the quake. The most common response was \”what quake?\”. I guess regions running along the east coast of Florida did not feel it?
I live in Gainesville Fl. I was sleeping in on Sunday when it felt like someone shook me awake. Something on my headboard fell over. I didn\’t know what it was until this morning when I went online and read about it. Thought I was just dreaming something shook me!
You all need to go to the usgs.gov site and complete the Did You Feel It forms. This is important for any earthquake as it helps USGS determine over how wide an area it was really felt as well as how intensely. Now maybe some of my FL friends will stop criticizing me for living in CA because it has quakes.
