Crist unequivocally is saying Floridians should be paying higher premiums to cover terrorism risk in New York City, earthquake in California, and for the liability lawsuits filed in Madison County, Illinois. That\’s an interesting campaign speech you got there, Charlie.

That\’s right…If you live in Idaho, you too can have the privelege of subsidizing lower interest rates for all the beach dwellers.

Assuming, of course, that all other state regulators allow the insurance companies to consider losses outside their state to help set rates inside it…

Give me a break. Typical political babbling to garner votes…

It should be remembered that the State of Florida REQUIRES that insurance companies have a \”Home Office\” in the state. Thus the need for XYZ Insurance Company \”of Florida\”. The State of Florida made the soup – now they\’re stewing in it.

Oh I get it. What Crist is saying is that residents from one state should be expected to help out the residents of other states if the financial burdens become to great. In effect he is saying that if the citizens of Nebraska agree to cover the hurricane losses of the citizens from Florida they will of course get something in return. Like for instance the residents from Nebraska will be able to stay at the Ritz Carlton in Boca Raton for the same rates they would pay in Lincoln Nebraska. So instead of the usual $500.00 per night they would be able to pay only $89.00 per night. You know that might work!

No, goose, you silly goose, you are not paying for the WTC when you pay a surcharge on your commericial insurance. That has already been paid for.
And if you want to live on the beach in Floriday, be prepared to pay more for your homeowners policy than a little old lady on a farm in Idaho. That\’s basic insurance policy. Explain that to Crist.

Bob – do you not see the big picture here???? this is not what Crist is stating – he only wants the companies to stop collecting record profits from the other 49 states they write in and penalize the poor Florida farmer who lives in the MIDDLE of the state who can\’t get WIND coverage-THIS IS HAPPENING HERE –

I don\’t like seeing my premiums go up either. But at the same time I don\’t want to pay for the \”Big One\” in Calif or Missouri, fire in the SW, tornados in the Midwest, ice & hail in the NE, or FLIND (flooding winds) in La. What skews the curve here is castles literally built on a bed of sand. (biblical reference, look it up). Automated underwriting and bean counting executivesare what needs replacing.
