I live on the coast, pay my taxes, buy homeowners insurance, windstorm insurance and flood insurance. I resent my tax dollars being given to those who elected not to buy flood insurance. What is the incentive for anyone to buy flood insurance if MDA acts in this manner. I would like very much to live in a $150,000 home.
I would like to know has anyone heard any information on whether or not they have been approved for the grant? And if you meet all the qualifications why do you have to wait and see if you are appoved for the grant. From my understanding every one will receive money from the grant. Am I correct?????
not everyone will receive the grant monies. duplication of funds is the biggest obstacle and that is why so much info is needed before a determination is made. if you had 100K in damage, you insurance gave you 60k, fema gave you 5k, and sba approved you for 40k then you may not qualify seeing how you have the funds to rebuild without the grant. this is just my understanding so far.
Thanks Concerned. Now I understand what they meant by waiting to see if you are approved. That do make more since. I called the the 866# and they told me the approval letters will come in the mail in July and she didn\’t give me a date on the actual grant. But wlox news has said repeatly the grants will be issued by the end of June. I guess we will be playing the waiting game a little while longer.
Will the people that signed up for the grant the second time .When will they know if they are approved or not? Everyone is waiting patiently waiting to find out the outcome.How long will it be?
