One has to wonder how many will take the money & really use it for improvement. Where do I sign up? Good move, gov!

Could be proof of what improvements were made, and proof of how grant dollars were spent, (per a case-by-case timeline), would be in order.

Could be appropriate grant usage verification protocols are already in place.

Too bad \”they\” decided to leave out mobile homes. A single item, proper tie-downs, can mean the difference between survivability and a vacant lot.

Will the new grants be grandfathered in? I just put in new windows w/ hurricane shutters on May 12th. The law past on the 16th. Will I get any compensation?

    Thank you

how, when and where may i do this?as of this moment,my homeowner\’s is $250 increasing to $3300 and that\’s not including the windstorm and flood i\’m required,my windstorm deductible is going up to $7,700 from $500.i need a big break.usaa cancelled my policies after hurricanes francis and jeanne, saying i had never met their eligibility requirements.they had been my insurance co. since 1993.i guess it took them all that time to decide,or where they looking for ways to drop fla residents?if usaa would have decided this before,i would have been able to be established with another company and not be having to suffer these horrific rate hikes as the only thing available.does anyone know where i can get some affordable insurance?i\’m 53,single, female, and middleclass.as an airline employee,i\’ve given up alot in salary and benefits. do i have do i have to give up my home because insurance companies can do,and can charge, whatever they so desire, and whatever they are allowed to get away with?(usaa requires members to be a retired or active officer in the military,or relative of that person.i am a daughter of ww11 officer.they said he never activated his right to receive their insurance.all these years they pursued my business… until the hurricanes)

If I order my shutters now (June) which will not be ready until next year anyhow, can I still qualify for the grant or should I wait tor the whole program to be in place in about two months, apply for the grant, and THEN, order the shutters or whatever improvements may be involved?
    Please reply,
    Thank you very much.

I would think everyone should contact their local representative to get the answers to all the questions. They are the ones that are supposed to be \”in the loop\” so to speak.

To whom should I make the first call to find out more specific information?
