Mr. Hamilton you seem pretty quick to criticize everyone else, where does a genius such as you choose to work?

Well Nick you are Intelegent! I don\’t know where Mr. Logical gets off telling me that I am living my life wrong he doesn\’t know who i am or what ive been through in my life….My mother who raised me passed away when i was 14…my father has been in and out of prison my whole life and has never been apart of it. I have been fending for myself having to choose and make decisions that someone that young shouldn\’t have to do. And about my education…I did attend a public school….wouldn\’t you be suprised that i graduated at 16 and in the top 10 in my class?!? Just because i had to think about my life and how i was going to afford to live…that i didn\’t choose to bury myself in debt by going to a pristine college like Darthmouth? I am sorry but i geuss because i am only 20 years old married and am pregnant with my first child…i live in a mobile home as well i must be trailer trash or something for the way I am living my life!? Please mr. logical tell me about how I and other millions of people should be living our lives!? And on the subject of not wanting to move….no that isn\’t your fault..could you do me a favor….use your dartmouth education and go through the united states come up with one state that DOES NOT have a single HAZARD that they could be prone to!? Just for your knowledge mr. Logical if you could quit bashing people for thier morals and the way they live their life then we could stick to the POINT! Maybe you just aren\’t happy with who you are or what you have become that you have to try to make the rest of us look like undereducated morons!?!? Maybe you just didn\’t have enough love as a child….please help me understand your LOGIC?!

I\’m with you, Marty. I have to doubt the intelligence of people that have to insult instead of debate intelligently. GLAD THEY\’RE NOT MY AGENTS! They wouldn\’t last long in my job, you know?

My point was that the insurance companies crying \’poor mouth\’ are still making 7 or 8 digit profits. Of course, that\’s only their CEO\’s. I did compare it to the gas rates and I still stand behind that comparison. I don\’t care how much they dontated, they are still raking in more money then most of the so called \’agents\’ on this board could possibly count while raising gas prices to the point that people that work in minimum wage jobs are going to save money by quitting to avoid the gas bill of driving to work. Welfare will pay better.
I asked numerous times where these \’enlightened\’ people live where there are no hazards, and not ONE of them came up with an answer.
Do I expect the gov\’t to bail us out? No. I expect the gov\’t to continue to bail out every other country while this one goes under due to capitalist greed. NOT capitalism, but capiatlist GREED. The \’take the money and run\’ mentality that the insurance industry shares with the gas/oil industry.
My biggest mistake this week was to expect a rational debate here.
I wasn\’t asking anyone else to pay for me. I\’m just trying to point out that profits are in the billions at the expense of the ones that can afford it the least.

    Nick,
    A) I ATTENDED (past tense), graduated in 03
    B) I now live in FL
    C) Capitalism/Personal Responsibility is key to the success of our nation
    D) Regulating the hell out of companies does not promote growth… which we benefit from (as stockholders and ins. agents)
    E) I never once said that ins. companies are losing a lot of money!!!
    F) You are agreeing with my point, that people who choose to live in disaster prone areas should pay the price…Including Seniors…and people who don’t want to move.
    G) If we go with your method (harsh regulation of ins companies) we will have no options other than Citizens now would that be a good place to put all of clients? I think not.

    Marty,
    A) Congratulations on all of your accomplishments.
    B) Is it my fault that your mother died or your father is in jail? No. My father was fighting the VC/NVA when he was 16yrs old, he also didn\’t know his father and his mother was a drunk, however he did make excuses he…he did something…went to college…and became a successful business man. The past is in the past and should not be to blame for your current problems/choices.
    C) Student loans are an investment in your future…but I\’m sure Nick Hamilton can tell you that.
    D) Please point out to me where I said there is a state with no catastrophes! Oh that\’s right I never said that. Can you honestly sit there and say that the odds of a major catastrophe are as high in Idaho as they are in Florida? Get real. We all know that Hurricanes cause a great amount of damage and the costs are enormous (in the billions), can the same be said about Fires or Tornados?
    E) Did I ever say you were \”trailer trash\”? Again that is something I did not say. I don\’t necessarily agree with all of your decisions, however that does not make you a bad person…I was out of line with my harshness in the original post and apologize for that…but please don\’t confuse this with defeatism, I am correct in saying that sometimes you have to adapt and make changes, the we should not have to fit the bill because you don\’t want to move.

Thank you both for the debate…it\’s a good stress reliever. I look forward to another one.

    Logical…
    A) Thank You
B)who ever said it was your fault that my mother died or about my father….I know i never did?! I am not using that as an excuse to justify anything i was simply stating that because of what has happened thats what has made me who i am today. I live a very happy and content life with no problems and i don\’t feel like i have made any bad decsions?
    C) Student loans are an investment to your future…but you can do other things to invest in your future…I have 1 more year and i will be owning my own agency….at 21?!? I know i have invested in my future by accomplishing my goal and owning my own agency at 21? I didnt need a dartmouth degree to do that?
    D) Take a look back at your other posts and see exactly what you said because i know I or Dawn did not pull that out of our ***?
    E) No you never called me trailer trash but thats how i took it. You do not know me or my life and you took it apon yourself to determine that i couldnt pay my insurance rates and wanted YOU to pick up the bill because i didn\’t want to move. In my first post…I did mention that i live in a small town where there are many decent hard working people who can NOT afford the homeowners insurance for the first time in years because of all of these rate hikes?!? When all of the sudden these people are paying almost triple what they were paying before for the SAME exact coverage the year before. I know prices change as the economy does…then i geuss everyone should get a huge pay increase too for doing the SAME work so that they can all afford to pay. Dawn you are totally right when you said our country will just keep bailing out all the others while we let our country slip into poverty. Its not wanting others to pick up the bill…and the solution is not to just pick up and move….thats why we have our legislation who is trying to fix the problems going on in our society.

A word to the WISE ( Dawn and Nick) we will all never totally agree on any topic that could ever be posted about. Thats just life and the way it works. But fortunatly there are decent hard working people out there who are here and are making the world a better place. When those who are cold hearted and someone actually can prove to them why they are wrong they must find another way to make them feel like they are right by bashing those who made them feel this way. This is the day the Lord has made, Let us rejoice and be glad in it.

a)Really? So you graduated Dartmouth Business School and now work at some rinky-dink insurance agency in Delray Beach Florida? Right…I believe that. If you\’re going to lie try doing two things 1)Make it believable! Don\’t get greedy and mention Dartmouth. You don\’t goto Dartmouth and then become an insurance agent. That\’s like going to Harvard Medical School and becoming a nurse.
2)Try to realize that your IP address is PUBLIC and can be traced…in this case to a little insurance agency in Delray Beach, Florida.
Your need to LIE about going to Dartmouth to try to make your opinion seem more valid in the end just makes you and your \”arguments\” look foolish.
    B) Capitalism/Personal Responsibility is indeed key to our nation\’s prosperity. But so is CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY. To argue that Corporations can enjoy all the legal and financial benefits of individuals with none of the responsibility is insane. And Big Insurance Companies bailing on Florida now after collecting 20years of premiums and paying out almost nothing is not responsible.

D)I never said to \”regulate the hell\” out of the insurance companies. That is a red herring argument on your part(look it up). I argued for some regulation. I\’m sure they taught your all about monopolies in Dartmouth Business School. Banks and large capital companies like Insurance Companies are pseudo-monopolies and need some type of regulation. That\’s basic economics.

    E) Your WHOLE argument is predicated on you belief that insurance companies in Florida are indeed losing money and that is why they are leaving. You trying to say that you \”never said they weren\’t losing a lot of money\” is blatantly false and is nothing more than backpedaling once you were presented the facts.
    To quote you:
\”IF THERE ARE NO PROFITS IN INSURANCE THERE WILL BE NO COMPANIES OUT THERE TO OFFER COVERAGE\”
\” IF YOU DOPES FEEL THAT TAKING ALL OF THE PROFITS OUT OF INSURANCE IS THE CORRECT THING TO DO PLEASE EXPLAIN TO ME WHAT COMPANIES WILL STILL CHOOSE TO WRITE BUSINESS HERE!!!OH YEAH THAT\’S RIGHT THERE ARE NONE\”

From the above it\’s pretty clear that your argument is that the insurance companies are \”losing a lot of money\”
G)Again, red herring argument. I never asked for \”harsh\” regulations. Only that large insurance companies be forced to uphold their end of their contract with people. Canceling the coverage for people who\’ve been making payments to them for 20yrs without making any claims is not doing this.

Logic…I suggest you go back to \”Dartmouth\” and take a debating course. Your skills in this area are pedestrian at best and your arguments are anything BUT logical. You have presented no solid facts to back up any of your \”arguments\”. Indeed, when presented with facts that disprove your viewpoint you back pedal and claim that was never your stance when it was.

Now onto Marty. Marty is what is called a TROLL. A troll is defined as: In Internet terminology, a troll is someone who comes into an established community such as an online discussion forum, and posts inflammatory, rude or offensive messages designed to annoy and antagonize the existing members or disrupt the flow of discussion

How do I know Marty is a troll? Simple LOGIC…why would a 20yr old pregnant High School graduate who lives in a trailer be browsing this particular website? I find in highly unlikely.

Nick why dont you use that little ability of yours to track IP addresses…and then notice where mine comes from….alittle insurance agency..hmm why would i be browsing at something called the insurance journal?!? MAYBE because I AM in Insurance and i like to stay up to date about what is going on. I am not hear to annoy or anyone…and now your alittle bit acting like Logic for bashing me because im 20 a high school graduate that lives in a trailer!? I wonder how old yall could be for acting as immature as you have for a discussion that was supposed to be a debate about the article?!? IT has turned into nothing more than a name calling game. Good luck to all of you and i wish you all the best!

Right..I almost believe that someone who can\’t even figure out the proper use of punctuation (The \”?\” thingy goes at the end of a question and the \”!\” thingy is used to indicate strong feeling) is going to own their own agency. I won\’t even go into the money, requirements/documentation by the state, experience, etc that is required to open and run an agency. Not to mention that you are going to be a single mom. Where is all the daycare money going to come from Marty? Where is all the startup capital for the office, equipment, state fees, etc going to come from? At best your educational background and OBVIOUS lack of any critical communication skills would make your qualified for receptionist at an agency at most. Your claim to be opening an agency of your own is almost as laughable as logic\’s claim to have gone to Dartmouth!

    One final thing…please explain
\”thats why we have our legislation who is trying to fix the problems going on in our society\”

Did you mean \”That is why we have a legislature\”? Legislation is not a person or group of people…it\’s what a LEGISLATURE produces in the form of Bills and Laws.

Anyone with a 5th grade education could grasp that simple concept that you apparently can\’t. And you are trying to make us believe you have the intelligence to grasp the complex world of insurance!!??

    It is to laugh!

    Marty,
Wow..I know a lot of 20yr old single women who can barely write at a fifth grade level who even know what an IP address is…you just showed your hand again my friend.
I have no doubt you work in insurance….I am sure, however, that you aren\’t some 20 yr old pregnant girl with a high school education…your are a TROLL

Oh, and to show you how much I believe you work for an agency I am sending them copies of this entire thread along with time stamps, etc to show them how good you are at efficiently using your company\’s time and interent resources.
