How many times must it be said?!?! Yes, it\’s true, people have paid premiums for years for their insurance. But not a single DIME of that premium was for flood coverage! If your home was damaged by a flood, I\’m very sorry. It\’s a tragedy. But if you didn\’t buy flood insurance, the insurance company doesn\’t OWE YOU ANYTHING!!!

I agree that many people based their decision on their location outside of federally designated flood plains, and as such should have some recourse against the federal government. But if you lived on the beach and didn\’t buy the proper insurance, don\’t come crying to me. I don\’t see people that make car payments month after month on their Hyundai whining that they should be entitled to a Mercedes. Sorry folks, things just don\’t work that way.

To sum it all up again…YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!!

Jack, Our parents survived because they worked hard and looked after their own interests. They didn\’t depend on the government to look out for them & dig them out of a hole of their own making. I know you were probably being sarcastic, but I had to put in my two cents. Our Senators are trying to push for our government to put out $4.7 BILLION dollars, that we tax payors are going to have to swallow, in order to make whole the people who did not take care of themselves. What a sorry state of affairs!

What\’s really scary is that these are the guys sitting in Washington making laws that affect everyone in this country, and occasionally the world, and they don\’t have even a fundamental grasp of how one of our major industries works, not to mention lacking logic, reason and a basic grasp of the English language.dbricd
