September 2, 2005

The Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) operating in Florida’s Panhandle will be open Labor Day weekend, according to recovery officials from the Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency and Florida State Emergency Response Team.

Representatives of state, federal, and voluntary agencies, including loan officers from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), are on hand to answer questions and provide recovery information for Hurricane Dennis victims who have already registered. Written materials about various assistance programs are also available to individuals and business owners.

Anyone interested in information on mitigation, flood insurance, or related topics is welcome to come to the centers. Please note these centers provide information only, they do not have emergency supplies such as ice and water.
