Great job RMS – I predict 1.1 Billion to 2.1 Billion. I do not use any software – Please get real – billion dollar spread!!!!! That should make you right in the park somewhere.

Seems like a reasonable estimate of loss and damage based on the metrics… Now, think: Miami-Dade. Double the estimates.

Now think, insured loss values verses what is actually paid out, (or actual losses) is a puzzle….

    Poe:
It is not a puzzle at all. There’s a thing called ‘the deductible’. Also, quite a lot of the losses are not covered because the insured decided not to pay for ‘extras’ like business interruption or off-premises power loss.
Given the choice between a covering-almost-every-peril policy for $15000 and just-the-bare-necessities policy for $5000, 90% will choose the latter.
You apparently don’t believe in the principle of “you get what you pay for”.

    Poe,

you dodged a big one. You might want to be quiet and pray you don’t get hit by anything bigger than that overgrown thunderstorm that hit South Florida. Even then your house of cards is probably toast.

However, they will probably find a way to milk 3-5 billion out of this event while the entire coastline of MS and SE LA was wiped out. Interesting how a real catastrophic catagory 4 or 5 can do 25 billion while an an overgrown thunderstorm can do 5 billion in damage?

I’m sure its just the difference in value in the property. Don’t you think???

    Poe,

you are the worst kind of carpetbagger. You espouse concern and empathy for policyholders when you are nothing but a get rich quick snake oil salesman. After the dust settles and you are long gone with the money the remaining insurance companies will get to pick up the mess and pieces.

It’s easy to give away other’s money when you know you are in it for the short term.

I’d suggest you look into expanding into MS, AL and LA. There should be plenty of “profit opportunities” for you.
