Gee, good luck getting money back from people who already spent it months ago.

Maybe there’s a reason why insurance companies move a little more slowly and thoroughly!

    Payments for rent?????

Additional Living Expense is not a covered peril under the NFIP policy. They should have never paid in the first place.

If you give someone money out of the “goodness” of your heart, why ask for it back?

Hey Mark, where do you think that $27 million came from? It came from your and my federal income tax. I’d prefer not to pay more taxes so some folks can profit from their own misfortune. I have no problem with people collecting for legitimate expenses but I have a big problem with people double dipping or fraudulently collecting at MY EXPENSE. If you want to give out of the kindness of your heart, make a donation but don’t force me to finance this sort of thing.
