How does one become the Chairman of the Senate Banking and Insurance Committee and not know that flood is not covered under the homeowners policy? So it’s shocking to him, Huh?

The first step in chairing a committee that handles a subject that you know nothing about is to be elected by the poeple of your district, as a candidate from the majority party. To get to chair an important committee that hanldes a subject that you know nothing about, like say, Banking and Insurance, you probably need seniority. That means the people in your district keep re-electing you as a cnadidate from the majority party more often than the people in the other districts re-elect your fellow legislators.

Notice that competence isn’t necessarily a criteria, but being continuously re-elecetd as a majority party candidate is.

Gee, more disclosure? Let’s try “read your policy” – there are already requirements in many states about font size, readability tests, etc. Why not try holding people accountable to perform basic functions instead of passing more laws to require more disclosure – which the consumers won’t read any more than they apparently are reading now.

I’m shocked that Rudy Garcia showed what a bumbling yeeha he is, by making such a STUPID statement, that he thought he was covered for more perils that he was. I assume he can read english, his policy is probably printed in english ( I would hope)
If he is a committee chair, I feel confident that he could defend me in an E&O claim should my defense be that I thought the coverage I sold was good enough. His name will go on the same list as Tom Gallagher, he seems to think insurance should provide coverage that it clearly does not, the sad fact is that Gallaghers office approved ALL the current filings that companies are having problems with. Maybe Mr. Tom should have to defend his actions, statements and misleading statments to the media, in a court of law.

Well I am happy to say I did NOT vote for this politician, I could think of many other things to call him, but this is a family program
