W. Va. WCC Files Suit Against Employers

West Virginia’s Workers’ Compensation Commission recently filed
injunctions against three state employers whose accounts with the Commission are reportedly in default.

Injunctions were filed in Kanawha County Circuit Court against the following:

• Morgan Auto Parts Inc., a Marion County wholesale stores and delivery business, owes back premiums, interest and penalties totaling $32,408.47;
• New River Processing Co. Inc., a Raleigh County coal hauling business, owes back premiums, interest and penalties totaling $123,593.05; and
• The New River Mining Co., a Wyoming County underground coal mining business, owes back premiums, interest and penalties totaling $515,787.66.

Workers’ Compensation Commission Executive Director Gregory Burton said the Commission will continue initiating litigation involving delinquent businesses throughout the state to help assure everyone pays their fair share.

The injunctions call for the firms to cease business.
