Ha, Crawford and Co are nothing but a bunch of lowlife crooks who screw their adjusters and are in cahoots with big crook ripoffs like State Farm.
This sounds like a cover for an investigation into State Farm claims crokery and the under the table millions they pay Crawford to handle their claims the way they want them handled. Cheap.Crawford nothing more than a stool pigeon for Big Red.
Interesting that Crawford and Company has claimed to treat all people fairly.
Call Sunrise Condominiums association #1 or #2 in Brownsville Texas and see how uprightly they were treated as a result of the April 8, 2003 hailstorm there…
Their adjuster had a way with denying actual replacement needs…for months and months…
Then, after the adjusters’ fair and reasonable “logic” was (Texas legally) recorded, and Crawford and Company Corp. was informed of such documentation, things suddenly got better…
Hmmm…
insuranceclaimsandsettlements.com is coming…
That site should help clear up a few misconceptions about the integrity of certain segments of the insurance industry…
Not that an adjuster would get a bonus for reducing a loss ratio. It does happen. See recent Claims magazine. Adjusters are not rated on how fairly they pay claims.
As an independent broker, I have a commitment letter that I give to all clients at the beginning of our relationship. Lately I have felt the need to revisit this commitment letter with my clients, letting them know that we strive hard to provide the best possible carrier/best possible contractual provisions to them at a fair commission. When something like this hits, it puts a cloud of doubt on all of us.
A new group is forming, United Insurance Professionals. We have found that our current associations can not help us when we run into situations where we feel our clients and ourselves are not being dealt with ethically. Check out the website, http://www.unitedinsuranceprofessionals.org.
Another area of interest with TPA business practices is the rebates given by medical management firms, bill review companies and subrogation companies. There is a conflict of interest where the TPA hires the vendor, makes assignments, pays the vendor invoices and recieves a commission for the assignments.

I wholeheartedly agree w Mr. Bennett’s point. Here is more info about this critical issue from a weblog – http://www.joepaduda.com/archives/000022.html

This has already taken place pursuant to a subpoena received by another large TPA.
Mr. Perez:
I can see that you are a little overwhelmed with the given information.
But….Do you have any proof on what you have just stated regarding the Crawford & Company “2.001 WorldCom stock exchange disaster” alike behaviours ?.
If so…Would you please give them to everybody here…right away?
Crawford & Company stock holders will sincerely appreciate it.
