My premium is paid to April 1, 2005. No mention was made of a refund. Was this an oversight or was there no provision made in the liquidation order?

I suspect Amer Superior is just the tip of the iceberg on Fla. takeout companies going broke. Just takes time to work thru the system.

I’m unclear. I’ve paid IN FULL for a coverage period ending July 1, 2005? Is this to be refunded? Or, applied to new premium?

Jennifer is the first to answer my original question. I called that same number today, before I read her reply, and got a similar answer. They told me that they would be sending out forms to apply for a refund of the unearned premium. However no mention was made any deductable. That would erase about 2/3 of my refund. I’ll have to call again. Thanks Jennifer.

Less than 2 months ago we paid our full premium renewal through 10/14/05. If we go with North Pointe Casualty Insurance Company, will they pro-rate our premium paid to American Superior Insurance Company? Surely we will not be out over $400.00…We have not had any damage and have never had to file a claim.

I am in the same boat… or should I say Sinking Ship. My annual premium was paid from my escrow account in March 2004 for coverage April 30, 2004 through April 29, 2005. When I called the FIGA today after receiving a letter yesterday that my coverage was ending on January 14, 2005 I can file a claim sometime in the future to get my 4 months of pro-rated premium return less a $100 deductible. FIGA’s number is 800-882-3054. So not only am I getting cheated out of $100 and possibly more, but I have to now find a new carrier at higher prices. Good Luck to All!

We sold our property back on August 25th, 2004 and have not yet received our refund. How will this affect us as we also received the letter about converting to North Pointe even though we have a cancellation letter from American Superior?
