Illinois needs to follow suit regarding building an insurance fraud bureau and providing proper funding. Insurance fraud in Illinois, especially in the area of major cities, is out of control.

WHY ASSESS ANYTHING. THE INSURANCE DEPT IS SELF SUPPORTING AND SHOULD BE ABLE TO SUPPORT THIS WITHOUT ADDITIONAL ASSESSMENT. IS IT A MONEY GRAB FOR THE GENERAL FUND?

The money for the Insurance Fraud Bureau should be isolated from the general funds, by law, thus eliminating any suspicion of a ‘money grab’. If ‘fraud’ should go down, then expenditures/assessments should follow.
