My heart goes out to the family and friends of this Adjuster. As an employer, I know the Insurance Company and/or Independent Adjustment Firm also will have a difficult time dealing with this loss. Whether or not the “unrealistic deadline” FL officials placed on us in the aftermath of the busiest land falling hurricane season on record contributed to this death remains to be determined. The industry, that previously was male dominated, now relies heavily on the services provided by female adjusters. I pray this isolated and hideous incident will not deter others from becoming adjusters, since there are obviously not enough claim representatives in the entire US to handle claims quickly enough to satisfy the people of FL.
I agree with Jon Owen, I think the Florida DOI should be making positive statements to help the situation and not setting these unrealistic deadlines and threats… for political gain by someone…The people of Florida are patient and once contacted they realize the task at hand is enormus and will take time…The rest of the political rherotic is possibly a cause that this young woman was sent out in a dangerous situation for no reason other than to get “one more inspection” that day…pointless…
I am a corrections officer and the guy who killed her was in my prison and braggin about what he did. It discusts me that people can do something like this to another human being. When things like this happen it just makes me glad that I part take in a job that watches over these creeps so they can never escape and harm someone else again.
