My husband and I have been trying to contact Safeway Property Insurance for the past three weeks. We have damage to our place in Florida from hurricane Charley. My husband was in Florida for two weeks, he tried to contact the insurance while he was down there with no luck. He left message on recorder like they ask, said they would contact him within 48 hours, no return call. I’ve been trying, but get recording the line is busy and mail box is full, so I can’t even leave a message.

We had damage from hurricane Charley – had to go out of town for 2 weeks. the adjustor called us in PA and we set up a time for him to come. He has been here but so far no check! Recording says you have to wait 20 business days – and we have. I called local company who had put our insurance with Safeway and they said it’s not their responsibility now since we have filed a claim. May just have to make a trip to Gainesville to see if they are still in business.

Our mobile home was totalled in Charley and we, too are having a terrible time reaching Safeway by phone. I have some limited success using Fax. I type up a professional Cover letter and attach all documents to it. And of course I include my phone number. It seems to be more effective than phone lines…hope this helps you all!

Well yesterday we had a pleasant surprise – our check arrived in the mail from Safeway. As I had stated before we kept calling trying to check on status and could never get through – the recording said allow 20 business days and it came just as promised! Now we just have to find someone to do the repair work in less than 6 months! so many repair people want to see what the insurance is paying before they will even come out. We were told by our agent to contact the adjustor who came so that might help you to contact them.

Withjout having been contacted by adjuster, received an “Estimated” check (less the deductible) in the amount of $900.
I still have been unable to get an estimate of damage – can I safely cacch the check pending final estimate and adjustment or should I wait?? It so difficult to get through and talk to a “real” person.

I have had a most favorable experience submitting a claim for damage caused by Hurricane Jeanne. An adjuster responded promptly, made an inspection, and I have received the settlement check, all within the time frames given me.
