Ga. Commissioner: 43,000 Residents Helped to Date in 2004; $7.9 Million in Claims Recovered

    Unlike most governmental bureaus, these folks acted swift, courteous and followed-up. Kind of scary!

    While we should always strive to avoid complaints, if we look between the numbers, we would see that the average consumer recovered approx. $190 thru his complaint. If we sort out the “legitimate” complaints, and the complaints in which the carrier determined that it was more economical to pay, than incur defense costs, then I would suspect that the number is even lower.
    The GA Ins. Commissioner is an elected position, which I suspect makes him more consumer oriented than an appointed commisioner. I have yet to hear him report about the great job any insurance company or the overall industry is doing.
