Disaster Kleenup International, Inc., a network of quality, independent property damage restoration contractors, announced that member company Green Construction Services of Lakeland, Fla. raised over $25,000 for the Children’s Cancer Center of Tampa Bay.
The donation is a result of the second annual Green Construction Golf Classic fundraiser, held April 25, at the Southern Dunes Golf and Country Club in nearby Haines City. The event was organized in memory of Danielle Green, an 11-year old victim of cancer and the daughter of Green Construction president, Alan Green.
“We are so proud to make a contribution to the Children’s Cancer Center again this year as a result of another fantastic golf tournament and the generosity of the over 140 people that participated,” added Alan Green, president of Green Construction. “The Center’s mission is one that is very important to my family and we hope that this donation will help the Center provide their amazing support to other families the way they supported mine.”
As an independent organization that receives no federal funding, the Children’s Cancer Center relies on successful fund-raising events such as the Green Construction Golf Classic in order to continue its family support programs.
“The Green family was very active in our programs at the Center, and we are grateful that they continue to be involved by hosting this very special golf tournament,” said Mary Ann Massolio, executive director of the Children’s Cancer Center. “What I think is especially unique and gratifying is seeing the local industry participants really come together to raise money for the Center and support the entire Green Construction family.”
“DKI is very excited and proud to join Green Construction once again this year in supporting the Children’s Cancer Center,” stated Dale Sailer, president of DKI. “This is a special golf tournament and we are pleased to be part of it. DKI is very proud to support our members’ efforts in taking active roles in their communities and with organizations like the Children’s Cancer Center.”
