What about those of us that moved out of state before the insurance was terminated in Louisiana? According to the OMV, my insurance was terminated in Louisiana 1997, but I moved to Georgia in Feb. 1996. I have sent in the forms requested, but they still turned me over to a debt collection agency.

I have received a bill for only six days lapse for 250 dollars. It is 2021 now, and the Louisiana DMV, neither the Insurance Companies can forgive a lapse of 6 days. Even during this stupid Pandemic, totally wrong. In my case I tried to pay my insurance with Go Auto via my bank bill pay, that did not work and I ended up paying the insurance over the phone but this happens 6 days after I found out the Bank could not send the check to Go Auto. Spoke to both and no one was willing to understand, neither forgive what happened. May some one help!
