State Farm Insurance Company is going to pay a portion of the state transportation department’s costs for its roadside assistance program.
The Department of Transportation and Development announced the State Farm sponsorship deal Tuesday. The company will pay $250,000 per year for at least three years, to cover part of the price tag for the Motorist Assistance Program, called MAP.
Workers with the roadside assistance program help drivers with flat tires and stalled vehicles. The program provides services seven days a week from 5:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on major interstates in the Baton Rouge, New Orleans and Shreveport areas.
The annual cost of MAP is $3.2 million, according to DOTD.
In exchange for the sponsorship, DOTD says MAP trucks and patrol uniforms will have a State Farm logo.
